Sawfish are now on the brink of global extinction. They used to be giants of the seas, rivaling great white sharks at as long as 30 feet. Now a ten foot sawfish seems large. Sawfish take a long time to grow and mature to breeding age, and the older, larger breeders just aren’t there any more.

Clean Water for America

Unfortunately, right wing Supreme Court justices appointed by Republican candidates saw things differently, and ruled to overturn the power of the Clean Water Act to protect a huge number of American waterways and wetlands. Some in Congress are working to overcome that problem with a new piece of legislation to restore the integrity of the Clean Water Act. The bill is called the Clean Water Restoration Act of 2007.

The Bicycle is the Vehicle of Heroes

While others walk on treadmills that suck electricity out of a wall socket, going nowhere, bicyclists make their own power and move where they will. While motorcyclists pollute the air with their self-conscious pose of noise, bicyclists cut through the pollution silently.

They clear the roads. They make room for others. They build strength without taking from others’ strength.
