OhiObama

In the collection of state level buttons for Barack Obama, there’s one in particular now that should capture the interest of Obama supporters: OhiObama.

Ohio was the key swing state in the 2004 general presidential election, with lines stretching around the block as Ohioans waited in the cold for their chance to vote. Now in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary, it’s Ohio again that comes to the forefront with the March 4 presidential primary.

There’s a primary in Texas too, it’s true. However the delegates in Texas will not be assigned democratically. Rather, the delegates are awarded unproportionally, according to voter participation in the 2006 election for governor. If there ever would be a Democratic Party to be undemocratic, it would be the Texas Democrats.

Ohio will thus be the true test of rank and file Democratic support. Will Hillary Clinton fend off Barack Obama, or will it be OhiObama in 2008?
